TeamAmp: PLAN: Create a New Assurance Unit (Project) and a Review

1.Introduction

Within your organisation system instance, there are three key levels:

  1. Organisational Unit (for example a business unit or department within the organisation. Example: Marketing)
  2. Assurance Unit (this is usually a project or program name. Example: HR Systems Upgrade)
  3. Review

A new review needs to be set up under an Assurance Unit or project and that Assurance Unit or project needs to live in one of the Organisational Units.

Please contact your system administrator if you can't see the department you require and or after support setting up a new Organisational Unit.

2. Create a new Assurance Unit

The first step to creating a new TeamAmp review is to set up the Assurance Unit or project that the review is going to be associated with. To do this, select the “Options” button to the right of the Organisation Unit, and select the “Create Assurance Unit” option.

This will launch a popup similar to the image below. Enter the name of your project in the name category. In this example we are using “Training Example Project.” Any notes in the description field are optional only. Once there is a name for your new project hit the create button and this new Assurance Unit will appear in your content list.

Once you have created an Assurance Unit you can make changes to it, by editing the information provided or deleting it using the “Option” function that appears to the right hand side next to the Assurance Unit. This expands out to a popup similar to below:

3. Create a new Review

To create a new review for the Project click on “Options” to the right hand side of the assurance unit and select “Create Review.” This will launch a popup with a date field. Input the date the review will first launch and then press the green “Create” button.

By default, the review name will be the date selected, however this can be easily edited by clicking on options next to the review on the right hand side and completing the “Name Override” field. We typically recommend using this field to rename the review to include both the project name as well as the review date as pictured in the example below.

The final step to setting up your review is selecting the project phase via the “Options” button next to the review. This is a critical step and you will not be able to proceed with the assurance review until a phase has been selected for the project.  This is because TeamAmp is a phase sensitive assurance tool that applies different ratings two different criteria depending on the delivery phase of the project at the time of the review.

Assigning a phase to your review involves picking an option from the drop down menu below and pressing the “update button.” Different phases can be selected depending on whether or not the project is being delivered using a Waterfall or Agile methodology.
