This document assumes the following has been set up and provisioned:
- The user has adopted a delivery model.
- In this guide, the "User" should be a Project Director and/or Manager who is tasked with performing the project review.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of this document, the reader will be able to complete the project review function of:
- Export a schedule template.
- Import the schedule template into Microsoft Project.
Create Template Schedule
From the Plan tab, for the project, you adopted the delivery model to select Export Work Schedule. This will download and XML file to your downloads folder.
Import XML schedule template into MS Project
Once the XML file has been downloaded, from MS Project, select “Open” to open a new file. Then, navigate to where the downloaded XML is stored.
BY DEFAULT MS Project will not detect an XML file in the directory because it is looking for .MPP files. From the file type dropdown adjacent to the file name field (See below), select XML, and the target XML will become visible to select. Select the XML to open and click “Open”.
